New and innovative chips Grafeno

A research team from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with Tomas Palacios at the top are using grafeno (a form of pure carbon), a relatively new material, to manufacture electronic circuits but with smaller velocities of the order of 1000 GHz

Regarded as the world's strongest material, has qualities to be used in the manufacture of chips replace silicon in this manner. Palacios team has also used this material for electronic devices such as a frequency multiplier.

The prototype of "Transistor grafeno" was presented at the annual meeting of the American Physical Society and is said to not only revolutionize the electronics, but also information and communication technology, so that in future mobile phones, computers, sensors and other electronic equipment that would be material.
